How to make a spring garden rose wreath
1. Tie a spring bow
First up in this spring rose wreath is to create the bow.
Start with your plaid ribbon, measuring a 12” tail, pinch, and pleat. Then, measure 12” for a 6” loop, pinch, pleat, and twist. Repeat for a total of 3 loops, and then trim the tail streamer.
Repeat these steps with your blue polka dot ribbon, working on top of the plaid base.
Then, add a final, short loop of plaid ribbon in the center.
Wrap florist wire around the center of your bow to secure it, then feed the ends through the grapevine. Twist at the back to secure your bow to the bottom left corner of the wreath.
2. Establish the greenery base
Start with a large stalk of viburnum, adding it behind the top of the bow using hot glue. You can use a bit of bind wire near the top of the stalk if needed.
Then, add a second stalk behind the bottom-right of the bow.
Include smaller pieces of viburnum using steel picks and hot glue, filling in around the top and bottom of the bow.
3. Add pink garden roses
Next, evenly distribute six garden roses throughout your base, adding them on different plains to emulate natural growth.
Secure with steel picks and hot glue.
4. Include yellow + white cosmos
For more variety, include separated cosmos picks throughout the design. Aim for an even smattering of color.
5. Add lavender ranunculus
For the final spring floral, add clippings of lavender ranunculus. This will add a lovely lightness and draw the viewer’s eye.
6. Add berries
Spring berries will give this design extra texture, making the wreath appear more expensive.
Divide bunches of berries and add clippings throughout the design, focusing on the outer edge for a fluttery look.
7. Finish your spring garden rose wreath with ribbon streamers
To finish your spring wreath, add a couple of plaid ribbon streamers to the bottom of your design, using steel picks and hot glue to secure them.
Make sure to fill in any holes, fluff each bloom, and admire your creation!
