Blue and Silver Holiday Wreath

Learn how to make this sparkling blue and silver holiday wreath filled with textured greenery, velvet accents, and just a touch of glitter.

DIY blue and silver holiday wreath

I’m a HUGE fan of the blue and silver decor trend this season. It just screams winter wonderland! 

I’ve created this blue and silver holiday wreath using materials from Greenery Market’s coordinating decor boxes. 

They contain tons of materials in coordinating colors, with enough supplies for at least two wreaths.

Supplies for this project

You’ll need: 

• Silver-flocked teardrop swag
• Silk, wired ribbon
  • 4” Grey polka dots
  • 2 ½” Navy stripe
  • 2 ½” Silver sparkles
  • 1 ½” Shiny navy
• Faux navy magnolias
• Faux greenery
  • Green flocked
  • Silver leaves and white berries 
  • Frozen pine
  • Flocked feathery 
• Navy velvet magnolia leaves
• Feathery blue leaves
• Silver branches
• Hot glue
• Clippers
• Florist wire

How to make a blue and silver holiday wreath

1. Fluff your base

Begin by fluffing your swag base, bringing some realism and life back into the form. 

2. Craft the bow

Next, craft your focal bow.

First, measure a 10” tail of gray polka dot ribbon, then 14” for a 7” loop. Continue for a total of two loops pinching and twisting in between. 

Repeat these steps for your navy stripe ribbon, working on top of this base. 

Repeat these steps for the silver sparkle ribbon, this time measuring 12” for two 6” loops.

Finally, measure 10” of shiny navy ribbon, then 12” for a single 6” loop. 

Wrap the center of your bow with florist wire, pulling tight to secure, and add your bow to the top of your teardrop swag. 

3. Add focal flowers

Add large, navy magnolias to your swag, starting nestled in the bow and working down the teardrop. 

Secure each flower with hot glue. 

4. Include a smaller bow

For your smaller bow, measure 10” of gray polka dot ribbon for a 5” loop, then trim the tail. 

Work on top of this base, repeating these steps for the silver sparkle, navy stripe, and shiny navy ribbons. 

Wrap the center with florist wire and attach it to the bottom of the swag. 

5. Integrate faux greenery

Now, it’s time to add depth and texture with a variety of faux greenery!

Begin with a flocked greenery, adding pieces evenly throughout the teardrop and using small clippings to fill in holes. Secure everything with hot glue. 

Repeat this with silver leaves and white berries, adding even color and texture. 

For more contrast, finish your greenery with flocked feathery greenery and frozen pine for a deeper look.

6. Add blue accents

Add more blue color with velvet blue magnolia leaves on the top and bottom of your wreath. Include them around the outer edges on either side as well. 

Then, fill in between these velvet leaves with feathery blue glitter leaves. 

7. Finishing touches

For the finishing touches, add small clippings of silver spindly branches and extra ribbon tails if needed. 

Trim or roll ribbon ends and dovetail streamers, then fluff everything to perfection. 

And with that, your blue and silver holiday wreath is complete!
