YouTube 4 – Video Editing

Tips for editing your video:

You don’t have to necessarily record in the order of how the video will be played. In other words, record opening/intro at the end.

Instead of stopping and starting the camera when you need to do different takes, be quite for 5-10 seconds, clap 3 times quick and then be quite for 5-10 more seconds. This helps you to quickly locate where on the timeline you can trim instead of having to watch the whole recording again.

Feel free to use fancy graphics like lower thirds and sounds but I don’t do it so I can’t necessarily teach you to do it. I use Camtasia to edit my videos because I need the software for other parts of my business, but there are many other video editing software packages including some free like iMovie for Mac users and Movie Maker for Windows.
