How to make a perfect summer wreath
1. Prep the base
First, wrap a loop of rustic wire around the top of your wreath to make a hanger for your door.
Then, attach a silk bow at the top center of the wreath.
Use florist wire wrapped around the center of your bow, thread through the grapevine, and twist tightly to secure. Trim any excess.
Check out this spring bow project for an in-depth bow tutorial.
2. Add your sprays around the bow
Next, take your first pastel spray and insert it behind the bow, moving right and slightly down. Secure with hot glue.
Repeat this on the opposite side of the bow with a second spray.
Add a third spray high above the bow, giving it a bit of a haircut if necessary.
Finally, add a smaller spray to the bottom of your bow.
3. Include greenery
Now, we’re going to build the design by adding more greenery for contrast, depth, and texture.
First, take stems of a deep green pistachio leaf and add them on either side of the bow. Then, glue a shorter piece behind the top of the bow. Finally, glue a pistachio stem on either side of the bow between the established three stems.
For more interest, take a light fern and use it to fill around the outer edge of your design, stopping at the edge of your foundation.
4. Add coordinating florals
Peach roses add a beautiful element to this design, perfectly matching the color scheme.
Add cuttings throughout the foundation, securing with hot glue and designing for an even distribution of color.
Use floral picks and florist tape if the stems are too thin.
Then, add clippings of pink filler flowers to fill in throughout the wreath.
5. Finishing touches for the best summer wreath
For the final touches, pepper some lavender berries around the design. This will break up the greenery and give more texture while staying within the established color palette.
Then, glue in a few clippings of white florals to bring a necessary lightness and contrast to the wreath.
Finish it off with any extra flower clippings, greenery pieces, or ribbon streamers – and your perfect summer wreath is complete!
